Dr. Frederic J. Norkin is a Hometown Hero!

We’re so proud! Our very own Dr. Norkin is the featured “Hometown Hero” in this month’s Boca Magazine. All of us here at South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry are delighted to work with Dr. Norkin. He’s not only the “award-winning periodontist” described in the article. He’s also a fabulous colleague, special mentor and caring friend. Dr Fred Norkin headshot

Since 2022, Dr. Norkin has donated his skills and time to the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF) , completing app. $300,000 worth of pro bono dental work for at least one to two veterans each month who need help with missing or failing teeth.

Raised in Coral Springs and a resident of Boca since the early 1990s, Dr. Norkin is the son of an Army dentist. When first approached by WVRF Executive Director Mike Durkee about volunteering his time and skills, it was a no-brainer for Dr. Norkin to agree to use his expertise to build confidence for eligible wounded and disabled vets in need of periodontal care.

As Dr. Norkin says in the article, “Each of us also has a unique ability, and if we could share our unique abilities, we could make a difference.” He adds: “I want my children to see that we’re very fortunate for what we have, and it’s really important that we always give back to other people.”

The Wounded Veterans Relief Fund is a non-profit Florida program founded in 2009 and located in North Palm Beach, with other regions in Tampa, Orlando and Pensacola.  You can learn more about Dr. Norkin’s efforts with the organization and read the full article here.
