“Ain’t That the Tooth!”

Listen to our very own Dr. Frederic J. Norkin discuss the importance of oral health care and assistance for veterans on the recently aired “Ain’t That the Tooth” podcast.

Produced by The South Florida District Dental Association, the podcast features Dr. Norkin and other area dentists discussing how they help veterans as part of The Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, a non-profit organization that provides urgent financial assistance to Florida’s disabled veterans. The doctors volunteer their time and expertise to provide dental care for qualifying veterans.

We Support Our Veterans

According to US News and World Report, Florida has one of the largest veteran populations in the country. Dr. Norkin notes how fulfilled he is to offer his services to help improve the oral and psychological health of these individuals who served our country. He says he gets more out of it than he’s able to give.

At South Florida Center for Periodontics and Dental Implants, many members of our staff are veterans or are mothers of currently active-duty service members. Our surgical assistant Dianne Para’s brother is in the U.S. Army. Surgical assistant Gail Taylor Cochran’s son is with the U.S. Marines. Long-time employee Georgia Sales is a U.S. Army veteran and is the daughter of a U.S. Navy veteran. Georgia served doing stints in heavy construction, switchboard operations and more.

“Helping out is a unique way for our team to say thank you to these individuals,” says Dr. Norkin.

“Ain’t That the Tooth” offers perspectives on all kinds of topics “in and out” of dentistry. You can find the podcast on major platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and more. The production is sponsored by Bank of America-Practice Solutions, Carestream Dental, Dental Broker of Florida and Florida Dental Association Services.
